Jar Test Results Analyser and Converter

When you perform your "Jar Settlement Test" the readings are "inches" not "percents". The Soil Triangle Charts (below) require percentages of each type soil particle (sand, silt or clay). To learn about performing the Jar Test

This "Converter" will take your measurements in inches (and tenths) and provide not only the percentage of each particle, but the final SOIL COMPOSITION results. You can use these results to read either chart, or simply takes the particle percents to enter into the irrigation matching calculators. (the same result as the chart!). You can then use this "Type of Soil" description to select your soil type in the Garden Calculator.

After measurement data entry and activating the Calculator, read the results in sections 3 & 4, then advance to section 5 - to copy the results to your clipboad before returning to the Irrigation & Soil Matching Calculator.
